Explore Oregon 2009 ~ Sisters

July 17^th - 18^th

We had 9 cars and 19 members attend the Explore Oregon 2009, Sisters event organized by the Willamette Valley Miata Club.

The weather was perfect. The run to Sisters took us through the back roads of Washington. If you ever have the chance to go from Ellensburg to Yakima, take Canyon Road to avoid I-90/82. This road is perfect for the Miata and the scenery is spectacular.

The event planners had a great Friday night social followed by individual group gatherings, Saturday's runs gave us the opportunity to Explore the Sisters area, and the banquet Saturday night boasted great food, lots of door prizes and giveaways. There was even some successful blackmail to be had which gave way to much laughter. Thanks, Mark, for being such a good sport and a man of your word!

This is an annual event, well organized and lots of fun. 2010 is organized for Astoria, OR. If you're thinking about going in 2010, make your reservations now, as you can also cancel closer to the event if something comes up. Delays in doing so may result in you not getting a room at the host hotel.
