2021 Photo Adventures Contest

For the summer of 2021, Club members were encouraged to drive in and around Vancouver Island, solo or with other Club members.  Our members took pictures of their car at their favourite destinations on Vancouver Island, and submitted it for our website.  Of course, there was an incentive with numerous prizes awarded to those that participated.

This Twilight Blue Mica 1999 cruised through the murals in Chemanius. Going with the car club theme, this Mural was completed in 1986 by Alan Wylie. It depicts a street scene capturing cars of the day at the festivities of the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Victoria Lumber & Mfg Co. Ltd. in 1939.

This Bronze Red 2007 GT is pictured lost on Denman Island! This couple have toured most the mid & southern Gulf Islands in the last three years. Very reasonable BC Ferry fares as they're both 65+ & always go Monday to Thursday as you only pay for the vehicle.

A Twilight Blue Mica 1999 is framed by two coastal Arbutus Trees overlooking Deep Bay. This is a bustling and picturesque fishing town in the summer with the bay full of ships and yachts surrounded by the Beaufort Range of Island Mountains. The town's one restaurant serves fresh fare from the sea at it's doorstep.

Copper Red 2007 GX at the Glenora Farm Store and Café, just one of the many farms and vineyards that dot the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cowichan Valley south of Duncan. We stopped here for a great cup of coffee and homemade cookie; along the way a mama bear and her two little cubs crossed in front of us. That really made our day.

A Copper Red Mica 2007 GT was caught hanging with the local biker gang in Comox. These bike replicas were built by a local out on Knight Rd near Point Holmes.

This Copper Red 2007 GX found a beautiful panoramic view from the Silver Meadows Farm nestled in the gently rolling foothills of the Beaufort Mountain Range. Mount Arrowsmith in the background, the peak being softly shrouded in morning cloud. Best corn and vegetables on the Island. Picked daily.

A 1.8 S Classic Red 1995 UK spec RHD Special Edition sits at the Englishman River Gorge next to the Provincial Park. Englishman River Provincial Park, as it's name suggests, is based around a fast flowing river which carries water from the vicinity of Mount Arrowsmith towards the ocean at Parksville. At this point, the river is constrained by a deep canyon and a series of paths permit visitors to view two spectacular waterfalls, amidst a lush backdrop of old growth forest, combined with second growth Douglas Fir, Cedar, Hemlock and Maple.

An oversized passenger enjoys his day in this Blue 2001 LS at Cadboro Bay. Recommended if your drive takes to the heart of Victoria. It's well protected and houses the Royal Victoria Yacht Club. Cadboro Bay Beach is scenic and dog friendly before 900 am. Follow this up with a good coffee in nearby Cadboro Bay Village, the Moka House serves coffee and snacks after a walk on the beach.
